The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $71,100 to $151,128 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

- M.A. or equivalent terminal degree in Interpreting Studies,Translation and Interpreting, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related field. Degree at time of application or officialnotification of completion of the MA degree by August 1, 2027.
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in interpreting theory and practice, including consecutive and simultaneous interpreting
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including low socioeconomic andfirst-generation students
- Demonstrated professional interpreting experience
- Evidence of an active or developing program of research,scholarly and creative activity in interpreting studies,translation and interpreting, applied linguistics, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to use interpreting technologies andremote interpreting platforms
- PhD or Professional doctorate in Interpreting;
Professionalinterpreting experience in one or more areas such as court/legal,medical/healthcare, educational, community, or conferenceinterpreting - Experience successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULBstudent body
- Experience mentoring or supporting students using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom
- Demonstrated ability to teach both consecutive and simultaneousinterpreting
- Professional certification in court and/or medicalinterpreting
- Experience preparing students or professionals for interpretercertification examinations
- Experience coordinating programs, practicum placements,interpreter teams, or language-access services
- Experience with remote simultaneous interpreting, video remoteinterpreting, terminology-management tools, and/or AI-assistedinterpreting tools
- Multilingual proficiency and experience working withlinguistically diverse communities, particularly in Southern California
- Experience building partnerships with courts, hospitals,schools, governmental agencies, nonprofits, or community organizations
- Experience developing online or hybrid interpreting courses or professional training programs
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in interpreting theoryand practice, including consecutive and simultaneous interpreting;sight translation; court/legal, medical/healthcare, educational,community, and conference interpreting; professional ethics; and interpreting technology. (Mode of…
