Job Details

Permanent Workers’ Compensation (WC) Defense Attorney at a boutique firm. Salary $130,000 - $185,000 per year. Full‑time, permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Represent the interests of employers and insurance carriers throughout the state.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in mediation conferences.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to prepare for trials.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court.
  • Represent clients in court and argue motions.
  • Communicate with clients, judges, and other attorneys in a professional manner.
  • Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
    • Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a WC Defense Attorney.
  • Admission to the state bar.
  • Proven track record of representing employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation cases.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
