St. Bartholomew is seeking a full-time employee, who will perform various routine maintenance, custodial, and janitorial tasks to ensure that parish facilities are clean and well‑maintained. Hours are 35 per week, approximately 7 hours per day; some evenings are required and weekends rotate every other week. For occasional special events, employee may be required to work a split‑shift. This position will work in collaboration with the Pastor, Parish Administrator, other staff members, ministry leaders, and volunteers to provide an efficient, safe, and hospitable pastoral environment.

Employee will be required to do meeting and event set‑up and break‑down. This position is eligible for participation in medical/vision and dental insurance plans.

Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Must have current VIRTUS Certification and participate in Live Scan Fingerprinting. General education sufficient to understand written and oral instruction, directions, and safety rules for operating equipment. Must have the equivalent of two years building and facilities maintenance. Basic skills must include ability to perform small repairs related to electrical work, plumbing, painting, building and equipment maintenance.

Must be able to climb tall ladders, lift or carry heavy objects, and move furniture. Knowledge of janitorial / cleaning procedures and use of related equipment. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s License and automobile insurance.

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
