About this role:

Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and Finance, the Associate Vice President of Facilities, Planning & Capital Construction serves as the senior executive responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, safety, and service delivery of CSULB’s physical campus.

This highly visible leadership role oversees Beach Building Services (BBS), a 300-person organization responsible for approximately 5 million square feet across 134 buildings, a $45 million operating budget, and a capital portfolio ranging from approximately $150 million to $500 million.

The AVP will provide strategic and operational leadership across Facilities Management, Physical Planning, Design and Construction Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Business Operations, and Strategic Operations. With significant capital investment underway and an aging campus infrastructure requiring continued renewal, the AVP will balance major construction initiatives with the day‑to‑day operational needs of a large and active university.
