The Stage Manufacturing team turns design into reality, owning the build of Terran R’s primary structures. Engineers and technicians work side by side, collaborating in real‑time feedback to shape how we build better and faster. With a manifest and a launch date, the team delivers on Terran R: solving challenges in real time, optimizing for scale, and constantly improving processes. As the vehicle evolves, so will the factory, with opportunities to apply automation, machine learning, and advanced technologies.
Aboutthe Role
- Collaborate with the weld development team to develop and perform GTAW weld processes for aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel.
- Prepare tooling and parts by trimming, beveling, cleaning, aligning, assembling, and tack welding.
- Set up and optimize the production shop floor following 5S principles; handle loading/unloading with overhead cranes or forklifts, install structural mechanical pieces and tooling, perform dimensional inspections, and use precision measuring tools.
- Problem‑solve manufacturing issues, including defects in materials, equipment malfunctions, or inefficiencies, and work with engineering to implement improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality.
- Foster an inclusive environment for all team members.
- 3+ years of GTAW welding experience.
- Ability to follow work‑order instructions and read part drawings.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Proficient with measuring and cutting tools.
3+ years of aerospace fabrication or mechanical experience in a related field.
Shift DetailsThis is a 2nd shift position with a standard schedule of 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM PT, Monday through Friday. The role includes a 10% shift differential added to the base pay. The baseline expectation is a 50‑hour workweek, which may include occasional overtime as needed to meet operational goals.
