Production Planner II
Location:
Long Beach, CA. The Production Planner works on production scheduling and MRP for Rocket Lab’s Electron launch vehicle program. The role interacts with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure the production schedule, lead times, and material availability are maintained.
- Responsible for supply and fulfillment planning within MRP for production work orders.
- Release work orders to production and kit requests to inventory.
- Create visibility of material position with line‑of‑balance reports, material shortage reports, clear‑to‑build reports, etc.
- Support prioritization and expediting of subassemblies to meet integration timelines.
- Ensure part master data within MRP is accurate for production parts.
- Understand material demand and configuration accuracy.
- Collaborate across functional teams as a strong team player to achieve company‑wide goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- 2+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 6+ total work experience.
- Proven ability to conduct clear build reviews and expedite materials through production.
- Knowledge of production planning fundamentals for master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition.
- Proficiency in MRP systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics.
- Prior experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries.
- Experience in a rapid‑growth environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with AS9100, US export controls.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or R.
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
Base pay range (CA only): $72,000 – $90,000 USD.
