Overview
PCX remains at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, with highly engineered, flight-critical components and complex assemblies for a diverse range of military and space applications. We are looking to welcome highly talented individuals to join the NuSpace Test Team. We seek experienced individuals who have technical aptitude, enthusiasm to learn new skills and material, and an ability to work well with a highly technical, dynamic, and cohesive team. Below are some of our basic expectations for the Test Technician position.
Responsibilities- Learn NuSpace’s portfolio of pressure vessels and standard test procedures for each and independently maintain throughput of acceptance testing on flight hardware.
- Set up hydraulic pressure lines, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment to pressure test spaceflight pressure vessels and associated subcomponents.
- Follow all manufacturing planning and process specifications with an attention to detail and quality.
- Maintain test work areas’ cleanliness and organization, and help develop and refine 5S organization systems for composite and test areas.
- Assist in R&D testing processes.
- Support outside processing and vendor testing activities.
- Minimum high‑school diploma, preferred some college.
- Minimum three years of experience in pressurized testing within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Experience with high‑pressure equipment up to 20,000 psi, including pumps, hoses, compressed-gas cylinders and associated fittings such as Swagelok, AN flares and Hi-Pressure.
- Experience with instrumentation for measuring pressure, flow, displacement (LVDT), strain gage, etc.
- Experience in testing pressure vessels for aerospace applications—diaphragm tanks, PMD tanks, bubble‑point, static load, etc.—a major plus.
- Experience in mechanical testing—tensile tests, etc.—of material coupons, a major plus.
- Independently motivated and detail‑oriented with an eye toward quality and safety at all times.
Security standards as imposed by the Department of Defense, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the U.S. Government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. Physical RequirementsLifting, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and other movements are required. The employee may need to use hands for finger, handle, or feel tasks, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
