Production Planner II — RoleBased onsite at Rocket Lab’s headquarters in Long Beach, CA, Production Planners manage work order scheduling, ensuring coordination across Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance. They oversee production scheduling, lead times, yield management, and engineering build timelines to keep the production queue moving with priority and no blockers.
Responsibilities- Supply and fulfillment planning within MRP for Production work orders.
- Release work orders to Production and kit requests to Inventory.
- Create visibility of material position with balance reports, shortage reports, and clear‑to‑build reports.
- Support prioritization and expedite subassemblies to meet integration timelines.
- Ensure accurate part master data within MRP for Production parts.
- Understand material demand and configuration accuracy.
- Collaborate across functional teams to achieve company goals.
- 2+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent; 6+ years total work experience).
- Proven ability to conduct clear build reviews and expedite materials through production.
- Knowledge of Production Planning fundamentals for master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition.
- Proficiency in MRP systems, MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics.
- Experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries.
- Rapid‑growth environment experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with AS9100 and U.S. export controls.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment.
- Experience with SQL, Python or R.
This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary (CA Only): $72,000—$90,000 USD. Compensation may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Employees may also receive company equity and a robust benefits package including medical (HMO, PPO, HSA), dental, vision, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, flexible spending, dependent care, parental leave, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
