Role Summary

Test Technician – Long Beach, CA

Join the NuSpace Test Team to support pressure vessel acceptance testing for flight hardware. The role requires technical aptitude, enthusiasm to learn new skills, and excellent teamwork within a highly technical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Learn NuSpace’s portfolio of pressure vessels and standard test procedures to maintain throughput of acceptance testing on flight hardware.
  • Set up hydraulic pressure lines, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment for pressure testing of spaceflight pressure vessels and associated subcomponents.
  • Follow all manufacturing planning and process specifications with an attention to detail and quality.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of test work areas; support the development and refinement of 5S organization systems for composite and test areas.
  • Assist in R&D testing processes and support outside processing and vendor activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma; some college preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with pressurized testing in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating high‑pressure equipment up to 20,000 psi, including pumps, hoses, compressed gas cylinders, and fittings such as Swagelok, AN flares, and Hi‑Pressure.
  • Experience with instrumentation for measuring pressure, flow, displacement (LVDT), and strain gauge.
  • Experience testing pressure vessels for aerospace applications (e.g., diaphragm tanks, PMD tanks, bubble point, static load) is a major plus.
  • Experience with mechanical testing of material coupons (e.g., tensile tests) is a major plus.
  • Independently motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to quality and safety at all times.
Physical Requirements

Lifting, walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling are required. The employee must routinely handle tools and equipment up to 25 pounds and may be required to stand or reach with hands and arms.
