Insight Global is seeking a Remanufacturing Engineer for a leading automotive client in California. This individual will oversee the entire remanufacturing lifecycle of automotive cores, from receiving and inspecting used components through disassembly, cleaning, repair, testing, and final packaging of the remanufactured product. The engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize remanufacturing processes, improve salvage yields, and ensure product quality.
They will also serve as a key point of contact for external customers, supporting core return programs, inventory planning, and product-related inquiries. Additional responsibilities include analyzing core recovery trends and performance metrics, supporting root cause investigations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring all remanufactured products meet customer and quality standards prior to shipment. Other responsibilities include:
- Uses XA, Core receiving app, and DOMO to maintain and analyze records on core returns and freight, credit on returns, acceptance good rejects/bad rejects, accommodation per business requirements and manages core transactions to synchronize with financials.
- Provides input on policy and guidance to operations on core receiving and processing. Arranges and enhances tools for operations to transact cores precisely and efficiently by collaborating with the Production Control team.
- Gains insights about market and customer trend/causal/estimate on core pricing, returns, rejections, and accommodation in order to incorporate into planning and decision making.
- Assists with orchestrating thorough company-wide core management operations with Ops/F&A/FS/BU with regards to the circular model, including appropriate core reconciliation and credit processing.
- Coordinates flexible core value setting with PMG into pricing to influence customer core returns in observing operations inventory needs and position with PC.
- Analyzes core inventory cost and quantity by category and designs optimum inventory model in collaboration with Production Control for disassembly and assembly operations.
- Investigates healthy and obsolete core inventory to arrange disposal proposal with due diligence for appropriate approval.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
