Our client, a manufacturing company serving the upstream oil and gas industry, is seeking a Director of Operations to serve as the senior operational leader responsible for the overall management, optimization, and execution of its manufacturing operations. This position will be responsible for manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, quality, safety, staffing, budgeting, facility management, and continuous improvement. Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will partner on operational budgets, financial performance, capital planning, and strategic initiatives while helping build a scalable manufacturing organization positioned for long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational executive who excels at building systems, developing high-performing teams, and creating a scalable manufacturing organization positioned for sustained growth. This individual combines executive presence with financial discipline and operational depth and serves as a credible representative of the company with customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all manufacturing facility operations—including production, fabrication, assembly, maintenance, logistics, quality, and facility performance.
- Build scalable operating systems and processes that support company growth.
- Drive continuous improvement across productivity, cost, and operational excellence.
- Own supply chain strategy, including vendor management, procurement, inventory, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Manage multi-million-dollar operating budgets, with accountability for labor, materials, overhead, and capital expenditures.
- Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and profitability improvement.
- Own OSHA compliance and safety programs, including training, incident prevention, and safety culture.
- Manage the full operations talent lifecycle, including recruiting, training, development, and retention.
- Deliver executive reporting on operational KPIs, risks, and opportunities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key customers and strategic partners.
- 15+ years of senior manufacturing operations leadership, with proven ownership of complex manufacturing environments.
- Extensive upstream oil and gas industry experience required.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar budgets and driving P&L accountability.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain optimization, and operational systems.
- Experience building and leading large teams, with a track record of developing organizational capability.
- Strong command of OSHA, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to operate at the executive level.
