Qualifications
  • Licensure
    :
    Valid, active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license.
  • Education
    :
    Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology; an associate degree is preferred.
  • Experience
    :
    • Minimum 1 year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental illness in an inpatient setting.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in medication administration.
  • Driving Requirement
    :
    Valid California Driver’s License is preferred.
Job Overview
  • Provides direct client care including medications.
  • Maintains vigilance over the general milieu within the facility to facilitate quality client care, optimum facility operations and preserve safety of all therein.
  • Observes, documents and reports physical or mental condition of patients to RN and attending physician.
  • Orders, prepares, administers and documents medication according to physician orders.
  • Confirms delivery of all ordered medication(s) from pharmacy on shift.
  • Responsible for writing summary on clients as assigned.
  • Makes written or oral shift assignments, plans; organizes and directs nursing activities of the unit when needed and assigned.
Division/Program Overview

24/7 outpatient program.

Rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support.

Walk‑ins welcome. Clients may stay up to 24 hours. BHUCC equipped to serve 12 adults (ages 18+) and 6 adolescents (ages 13‑17).
