We are looking for an NOC Shift Charge Nurse to join College Medical Center Long Beach. The Charge Nurse will provide order and delegate tasks among floor nurses. Duties include admitting and discharging patients, assigning nurses to patients, and managing inventory and ordering medical supplies as needed. The RN will provide safe and therapeutic management of patient care to adult and elderly behavioral health patients through the nursing process, in adherence to the Standards of Practice and policies and procedures, and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.

• Current CA RN license and AHA BLS for healthcare provider card upon hire
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span; ability to assess and interpret data, determine patient care requirements, and deliver care relative to age-specific needs
• Assures implementation of patient care based on identified needs in a systematic and therapeutic manner as evidenced by the interdisciplinary treatment plan
• Establishes the priority of problems/needs according to actual or potential threat to the patient
• Communicates the written plan of care and changes to the plan to the patient, family, significant other, and health care team through the report process and other appropriate methods
• Understands the legal aspects of nursing and the importance of accurate and timely documentation according to standards and policies
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting required

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for College Medical Center, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that College Medical Center in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
