Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center night shift position requiring 2.5+ years of high-volume ER experience and an active CA RN license.

Details
  • Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Facility is a STEMI Certified and Stroke Certified center handling high acuity cases including shock/trauma, gunshot wounds, and traumatic injuries
  • Annual ER volume exceeds 90,000 patients
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend shifts required per department needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within the hospital based on census
  • Uses EPIC documentation system
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
  • Minimum 2.5 years of ER experience required, specifically in a large Level II Trauma Center
  • Required experience in a facility with annual ER volume exceeding 90,000 patients
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation monitoring, CVA care, cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Preferred skills include ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma care, spinal cord injury care, traumatic brain injury care, head injury care, near drowning care, and ortho trauma care
  • One professional reference required, within the past 2 years
  • Current Nursys report required, pulled within 2 weeks of consideration, with no license actions or hits
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are accepted with the required 2.5 years of large Level II Trauma Center experience
  • All time off/scheduling requests must be submitted and pre-approved at the time of consideration, at manager's discretion; no additional RTO can be added afterward
  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for this position
  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted, though at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates will float within the hospital based on patient census
