Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support quality operations within a fast-paced plastic container manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality standards throughout the manufacturing process by performing inspections, measurements, documentation, and quality verification activities.

The ideal candidate has experience performing visual inspections in a manufacturing environment, understands quality requirements, is comfortable using precision measuring equipment, and has a strong attention to detail. Experience in plastics manufacturing, blow molding, or injection molding is highly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Perform visual quality inspections on plastic bottles and containers throughout the production process.

* Inspect products for cosmetic and functional defects, including:

* Flash

* Short shots

* Warping

* Cracks

* Discoloration

* Contamination

* Improper sealing

* Surface imperfections

* Verify product weights meet customer and manufacturing specifications.

* Use precision measuring equipment, including Magna-Mike thickness gauges and other high-precision measurement tools, to verify product dimensions and wall thickness.

* Perform first-piece, in-process, and final product inspections.

* Accurately document inspection results, measurements, and quality findings.

* Complete required quality records, inspection reports, and production documentation.

* Identify non-conforming products and communicate issues promptly to production and quality leadership.

* Assist with quality investigations and corrective action activities.

* Ensure products comply with customer specifications, internal quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.

* Maintain inspection equipment and ensure measuring devices are properly maintained and calibrated.

* Collaborate with production operators and supervisors to improve product quality and reduce defects.

* Follow all safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company procedures.

* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

* Previous experience as a Quality Technician, Quality Inspector, or Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment preferred.

* Experience in plastics manufacturing, blow molding, injection molding, or packaging manufacturing highly preferred.

* Experience performing visual inspections and identifying product defects.

* Ability to accurately weigh products and verify specifications.

* Experience using precision measuring equipment, including:

* Magna-Mike thickness gauges

* Calipers

* Micrometers

* Thickness gauges

* Digital scales

* Basic computer skills for quality documentation and recordkeeping.

* Ability to read and understand work instructions, product specifications, and inspection criteria.

* Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

* Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with production teams.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.

* Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.

* Ability to visually identify small product defects with or without corrective lenses.

* Ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks with accuracy and consistency.

* Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around production equipment.

Preferred Skills

* Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and manufacturing quality systems.

* Familiarity with ISO quality standards preferred.

* Experience with statistical sampling methods and quality documentation.

* Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

* Ability to work independently while maintaining production quality standards.
