Job Description
Perform first article inspections on aerospace components, including CNC-machined and electro-mechanical parts, to verify conformance to engineering requirements.
Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet all dimensional, visual, and documentation standards before release.
Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to evaluate part features, tolerances, and critical characteristics.
Utilize ERP and MES systems to record inspection results, track quality metrics, and manage non-conformance records.
Assist with audit preparation by organizing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date quality documentation and records.
Maintain and monitor tool calibration compliance, ensuring all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and documented.
Support adherence to AS9100 and ITAR requirements by following established quality procedures and reporting any deviations.
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to perform detailed dimensional inspections.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to communicate inspection findings and support corrective actions.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
Minimum 2 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or working in an aerospace machine shop.
Hands-on experience performing first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to evaluate part conformity.
Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements.
Experience using ERP and MES systems to document inspection results and manage non-conformances.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Experience with document control and maintaining accurate quality records.
Ability to maintain and track calibration status of inspection tools.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing or machine shop environment.
Familiarity with ITAR requirements and controlled documentation practices.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection and documentation.
Comfort using digital systems and software for recording quality data and generating reports.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting audits.

The role operates in a production and inspection environment supporting aerospace manufacturing. The schedule includes positions on both first and second shifts, with first shift starting at 6:00 a.m. and second shift starting at 2:00 p.m. The team follows a 4x10 schedule once you transition into a direct role, providing longer days with additional flexibility in the workweek. You will work with ERP and MES systems and use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers in a structured quality setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
