This part-time customer service position uses your sales skills with our hospitality team and works a flexible schedule
. Hours are Monday to Friday from 6:15 AM - 12:00 PM
, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
, and flexible porter shifts. Additionally, we are open Saturday and Sunday from 6:15 AM - 12:30 PM
, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
, and flexible porter shifts. We are open on holidays with the exception of New Year’s Day and Christmas Day. For December each year, we have evening hours 2–3 weeks of the month, with festive open day shifts and nightly hours from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

As a Barista - Food Service Associate with our hospitality team, you play an essential role in serving our guests beverages while upselling. You prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas. When you aren’t prepping drinks, you help with tasks such as filling our spice containers, baking eggs for breakfast sandwiches, preparing our special butter for sandwiches, and warming up food for customers.

You also help receive and process payments.

Additionally, you ensure our equipment and truck are kept clean and sanitized. You safely use chemicals to clean the espresso machines and sanitize our utensils and surfaces. You keep track of materials to ensure adequate supply. Being comfortable driving a commercial vehicle and enjoying being a team player, you take on porter duties once a week, including dumping and filling 25-gallon water tanks.

At times, you assist with preparing mobile orders as well as weighing, grinding, and packaging coffee beans. You enjoy using your sales skills in a coffee-focused environment.

Carmen's Gypsy Coffee Bar is Long Beach's original espresso truck offering an on-location, full-service espresso and tea bar, vegan and gluten-free pastries, Spanish pressed paninis, breakfast quiche, house nitro cold brew, and much more. Carmen is a namesake and was the mother of Elisa Bertone, who is from a large family of 11 siblings. The siblings were Flamenco entertainers on stage from a young age.

Elisa's family is from the caves of Andalusia, Spain, and her uncle, Rene Heredia, remains prominent in the genre.
