Position: Outside Sales Representative (Int'l Trading) (CA/YM)

An international trading company is seeking a Sales Representative to join their team in Long Beach, CA. This position is responsible for managing the sales operations for assigned customers, develops new business by conducting marketing activities, and engages in selling, creating/maintaining relationships with customers to generate sales, ensuring profit growth and product expansion. A bachelor’s degree, B2B sales experience of steel products, metal markets and aluminum, general business knowledge, and over 3 years of relevant experience is required.

This is a full‑time, hybrid, exempt position with bonus, excellent benefits and 401K.

Responsibilities
  • Markets various products/commodities/services to assigned customers, develop and maintain good relationships with customers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to serve as bridge between traffic and sales team internally.
  • Markets various products/commodities/services to new business prospects by coordinating product introduction and market exploitation with marketing and sales initiatives to ensure maximum penetration of market segment.
  • Contacts customers/suppliers frequently to answer questions, resolve problems, and provide guidance. Coordinates confirmation of firm orders and forecast requirements for regular customers.
  • Investigates/handles customer complaints regarding quality, specifications, tolerances and delivered condition of products.
  • Coordinates, attends, and documents rejected material inspections. Validates condition of material and determines best disposition to minimize losses.
  • Oversee and resolve distribution/logistics issues to fulfill legal requirements and customer’s requests. Reviews related documentation to ensure compliance with import/export regulations. Investigates customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of products.
Qualifications
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have over 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have general business knowledge (economics, management, accounting).
  • B2B sales experience of steel products, metal markets and aluminum.
  • Must be able to go on frequent business trips.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
