About the Role

Target Security Specialist –Safe and secure protection of guests, team members, and store assets through proactive threat mitigation, situational awareness, and incident response.

• Use intelligence‑led strategies to keep team members and guests safe.
• Respond to crises, manage safety and crowd control, and provide support to guests and team.
• Apply de‑escalation tactics and physical security controls when necessary.
• Utilize Target’s video surveillance system to monitor and investigate incidents.
• Document security incidents accurately and promptly using the case management system.
• Perform merchandise theft recoveries, theft apprehension, and shortage prevention actions.
• Conduct merchandise receipt checks and recognize/communicate threat trends.
• Maintain a clean, clear, and safe store environment, including exterior property.
• Assist with general store operations as required by business needs.

• Minimum age 18.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state or local licensure and other legal requirements for the position.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to use multiple frequency devices and handheld scanners.
• Capacity to work independently, prioritize workload, and collaborate with a team.
• Ability to remain focused, composed, and physically capable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with Target’s security and case management technology.
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

• Climb up and down ladders safely.
• Apprehend individuals in accordance with company policy.
• Safely handle merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Work effectively in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions.
• Remain mobile and responsive throughout scheduled shifts.
