Under the direction of the Supervising Building Services Engineer, this position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electric, electronic, and pneumatic control systems, including Energy Management and Building Automation Control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor campus-wide building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and energy demand to ensure effective and efficient operation while maintaining building occupant comfort.
- Maintenance, installation, and repair of campus-wide building automation control system components and all associated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Respond to Facilities Management Customer Service generated work orders and after-hours emergencies to resolve reported control systems failures and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning related problems.
- Assist energy management consultants in re-commissioning and modernization of existing building automation system control components to increase the efficiency and reliability of campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Schedule as required heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment to ensure thermal comfort and ventilation needs for occupied space.

CompensationSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $6,705 (Step #1) - $9,768 (Step #20) per month.

• Equivalent to four years of journey-level experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large, complex, and sophisticated heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning, and water treatment systems; installing, inspecting, servicing, repairing, replacing, and calibrating building automation and control systems; and using programming features of building automation systems required.
Physical SummaryHeavy work – Job involves lifting more than 40 pounds. Approximately half of the incumbent's time will be spent walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, or climbing.
