Insomniac is seeking an Exterior Operations Crew member to support large‑scale music festival events. The role reports to the Director of Exterior Operations and involves managing site crew, heavy equipment, signage, and shuttle operations to ensure safety and efficiency during event setup and teardown.
The RoleThe position includes responsibilities across several operational areas: heavy equipment operation, build lead duties, signage work, and shuttle logistics.
Available Positions- Site Crew / Heavy Equipment Operator
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, stakebeds, water trucks, dump trucks, front‑end loaders, skid steers, etc. Forklift certification required. Earth‑moving equipment or CDL certifications and experience are a plus. - Ext Ops Build Lead
Lead festival build crews. Direct crew, coordinate fence vendors, manage inventory, and oversee equipment maintenance. Requires prior build or comparable experience. - Signage Crew
Hang signs around the festival perimeter to direct headliners. Handles 3’x3’ signs, overhead truss, parking lot flags. Forklift certifications helpful but not required. - Signage Lead
Supervises signage crew, ensures correct placement and understanding of signage strategy. Requires experience in signage or related departments. - Shuttle Loader / Unloader
Entry‑level role loading/unloading headliners from buses on show days. No certifications required. - Shuttle Lead
Manages shuttle staff schedule, checks in bus drivers, ensures smooth bus operations, troubleshoots issues. Requires supervisory experience.
- Clean motor‑vehicle report
- Valid driver’s license
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
- Capability to lift 50+ lbs
- Clean and presentable attire
- Motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude
- Active problem‑solver, sense of urgency
- Heavy‑equipment certification
- OSHA certification
- Tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments
- May work in extreme temperature climates
- Frequent travel to events during holidays, evenings, and weekends as required
