Overview
Interface is seeking an experienced Security/Fire Alarm Technician to diagnose and resolve application issues while maintaining Fire Alarm, TCP/IP Networks, Video Surveillance, Access Control & Wireless solutions. The role involves installing, servicing, and maintaining security and video surveillance systems, wireless devices, and cabling, along with installing electronic components, terminating, commissioning, and testing. Full‑suite tools are provided, including a cordless drill, test monitor, tone generator, probe kit, cable strippers, crimpers, fish tape, voltage tester, punch down tool, specialty wrenches, label maker, PPE, and a company‑issued laptop.

Responsibilities- Install, repair, and maintain intrusion, fire, video surveillance, network, and VoIP integrated systems.
- Work efficiently in the field to solve service issues.
- Train customers on Interface‑provided systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting physical counts and submitting documentation per company policy.
- Install and terminate network and security cabling.
- Perform fire stopping of cable penetrations.
- Adhere to and promote OSHA health and safety policies.
- Interface with customer contacts and vendors on projects and service requests.
- Coordinate with end‑users on site and maintain assigned vehicle and tools.
- Perform rotating on‑call duties as required.
- Finger and wrist dexterity; hand/eye coordination.
- Heavy physical effort; climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Work from heights, such as man lifts, scissor lifts, and rooftops, using proper fall protection.
- Carry loads up and down.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight.
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational, technical, or business school preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- NICET certification is a plus.
- Verifiable field experience, including at least 2 years as a proven field technician in the electronic security industry.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
- Comprehension of telecom, data, security, and wireless standards and safety regulations.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Pass applicable state and federal background checks to become a registered security installer.
- Comfortable using small hand tools and power tools.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel overnight.
