Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supervisor on the Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC team, responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets in a Walmart retail environment. Utilizes commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand, digital, and power tools to perform repair jobs and support store operations.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document repair work orders for store associates and stores.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Complete all required training for safe operation of equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart's HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights, including moving up and down ladders.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• 4 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.

The hourly wage range for this position is $28.00 – $54.00. Compensation is based on factors such as skill set, experience, level of job offer, and other job‑related factors. Eligible for bonus incentive.
