Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Supervising electrician, performs journey level electrical installations, maintenance and repair within the buildings, grounds and structures of the University and other related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, maintains and Repairs electric lights, motors, heaters. Consults and works with other trade persons. Makes rough sketches and estimates the cost of minor electrical installations. Keeps records and writes reports.
• Uses knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment of the trade in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, building codes and safety orders in daily performance of duties.
• Performs High Voltage Maintenance on Transformers, switchboards.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

• CSU Classification Salary Range:
  The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5,998 (Step
  1) - $8,737 (Step 20) per month.
