Job SummaryUnder general supervision of the Supervising Electrician, performs advanced journey-level electrical work and provides lead direction to electricians and assigned personnel engaged in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of campus electrical systems and infrastructure. Assists in coordinating daily operations, projects, preventive maintenance activities, and emergency response efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Provides lead work direction and technical guidance to electricians and assigned personnel. Assists with planning, coordinating, prioritizing, and monitoring electrical maintenance, repair, testing, and construction projects. Coordinates daily work assignments and ensures completion of assigned work orders and preventive maintenance activities.
- Instructors and leads skilled, assigned personnel as required. Uses knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment of the trade in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, following building codes and safety orders in daily performance of duties. Ensures work is performed in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC), California Electrical Code, NFPA 70E requirements, campus standards, and applicable safety regulations.
Provides technical training and guidance to electricians and apprentices. - Performs advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, installation, and repair of electrical distribution systems, transformers, switch gear, lighting systems, motor controls, emergency power systems, and related electrical equipment. Assists with medium-voltage electrical system maintenance and switching activities as assigned.
