Position
Marine Electrical Technician – Maritime Systems Division (MSD), Leidos.
Job FocusInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and test electrical systems aboard specialized marine platforms. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to mission‑critical engineering projects serving both defense and commercial maritime initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain marine electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and communication networks.
- Diagnose faults and repair electrical equipment such as motors, generators, switchboards, and instrumentation panels.
- Perform electrical testing and calibration in compliance with maritime standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assist with the integration of instrumentation and control systems into marine platforms.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Comply with relevant safety regulations, codes, and company standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1‑3 years of relevant experience in marine electrical systems, preferably in shipboard or offshore environments.
- Familiarity with military standards, maritime regulatory codes, and environmental requirements.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, electrical test equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a dynamic marine environment.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including work aboard vessels as required.
- Associate’s degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
This role requires travel and coordination with engineering activities at Leidos and other government facilities. Travel may include multiple locations across the United States and possibly the United Kingdom. Initial focus will be supporting U.S. Navy programs such as the Ghost Fleet in San Diego and Port Hueneme, CA.
CompensationPay Range: $40,300.00 – $72,850.00.
