Marine Electrical Technician – Maritime Systems Division (MSD)
The Maritime Systems Division (MSD) of Leidos seeks a qualified, energetic, and resourceful Marine Electrical Technician to support advanced technology solutions for maritime missions across Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and commercial customers.
Responsibilities- Install and maintain marine electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, and communication networks.
- Diagnose faults and repair electrical equipment such as motors, generators, switchboards, and instrumentation panels.
- Perform electrical testing and calibration in compliance with maritime standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assist with the integration of instrumentation and control systems into marine platforms.
- Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Comply with relevant safety regulations, codes, and company standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years of relevant experience in marine electrical systems, preferably in shipboard or offshore environments.
- Familiarity with military standards, maritime regulatory codes, and environmental requirements.
- Experience with diagnostic tools, electrical test equipment, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a dynamic marine environment.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including work aboard vessels.
- Associate’s degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
This position requires travel to multiple U.S. sites and possibly the United Kingdom, with initial focus on supporting U.S. Navy programs such as the Ghost Fleet in San Diego and Port Hueneme, CA.
Pay Range$48,100.00 – $86,950.00 (general guideline only).
