Electronics Technician

Electronic Technician – Long Beach, MS

Leidos seeks an Electronic Technician to support assembly, testing, and production work related to electronic devices used for both surface and subsea applications in a world‑class LEAN manufacturing environment.

• Electrical assembly
  • Wire harness fabrication utilizing wire splicing, crimping, Molex connector installation, and soldering on a variety of connectors and cable types.
  • Component installation on multi‑layer printed circuit boards using approved soldering techniques for surface mount and through‑hole components.
  • Inspection and test of circuit card assemblies.
  • Use of standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, etc.) for assessment and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies.
• Mechanical assembly
  • Assembly and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Read, understand, and follow engineering assembly drawings, BOMs, manufacturing procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation.
  • Use hand tools to assemble mechanical components into larger assemblies.
  • Diagnose assembly issues with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain documentation records such as serial numbers, traveler records, work orders and non‑conformance reports.
• Lab and equipment
  • Develop and implement work orders, test procedures and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe lab environment.
  • Manage lab equipment and assembly fixtures, support repair tasks or seek assistance to keep equipment in good working condition.

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years of related experience.
• Experience reading schematics and drawings.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in soldering to J‑STD‑001 standard.
• Familiarity with and ability to operate standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, frequency generators, etc.).
• Self‑motivated and able to shift between tasks quickly.
• Maintains clean and organized work spaces free from grit and dust.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Professional interaction with customers, peers and supervisors.
• Average physical mobility; capable of lifting up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to travel outside local area 2–5 times per year.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance for consideration.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Associate degree in instrumentation and electronics.
• Experience writing work orders and test procedures.
• Fiber optics manufacturing, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
• Certification to J‑STD‑001 solder standard.
• ISO manufacturing experience.
