Construction Materials Testing-Field Technician

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Construction Materials Testing-Field Technician. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be eager to learn and willing to work overtime when necessary. Must enjoy being out in the “field” and be accustomed to working in year-round local weather conditions. Excellent opportunity with training provided!

• Perform field sampling and testing of asphalt, concrete, and soils.
• Conduct field inspections of miscellaneous construction activities, such as logging piles and vibration monitoring.
• Accurately and legibly write required reports.
• Operate and maintain specialized testing equipment after receiving training.

• Good computer, math, and science skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug/alcohol test.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• At least one year of construction experience is preferred.

• Push a wheelbarrow loaded with concrete across uneven and rutted ground surfaces.
• Lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height.
• Climb in and out of a pick-up truck and shallow trenches.
• Use shovels and picks for digging and sampling.
• Navigate around construction sites with rebar and other obstructions.
• Bend or squat to lift or move objects.
• Use various hand tools and specialized equipment for testing.
