Social Services Team Lead
This is a time limited position (NS-14).
Annual salary: $57,778.81 (Bachelor's) / $59,862.40 (Master's) / $61,942.40 (Clinical)
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with variations as necessary.
Serves as a primary liaison between individuals served through the program and their families/correspondents/community.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to plan for the training/habilitation and/or discharge of individuals served.
Serves as the ultimate go-to-person for all Social Services staff (Social Workers/Case Managers).
Provides support to individuals through socialization group training.
Explains general medical and psychiatric recommendations to families/surrogates and obtains consent for surgery or other treatment.
Counsels individuals served and their families on adjusting to routines and life at the facility.
Coordinates services among agencies contributing to individual's welfare.
Prepares social histories by interviewing individuals and families and making other necessary contact.
Supervises and works on floor with direct care staff.
Maintains client permanent documents and other files.
Shops for various client needs and gifts for holidays.
Reviews and routinely updates Social Services Policies and Procedures.
Provides Social Services guidance, leadership, training and supervision for all Social Services staff.
Reviews and approves all social work evaluations.
Conducts Rounds at each community program site 1x monthly.
Conducts all Social Services in-services as deemed necessary.
Ensures all annual correspondence is shared with Social Services staff that is to be relayed to all families.
Fills in, in the absence of a Social Worker/Case Manager at any given community program site.
Fills in, where there is a vacancy of a Social Services position until the vacancy is filled at any given program site.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings in the absence of Social Services staff.
Conducts Performance Appraisals for Social Services staff.
Corresponds with Community Home Program Director on the performance of all Social Services staff.
Participates in training for licensure renewal as mandated by the MS Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.
Maintains licensure.
Other tasks as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:
Ability to perform in a professional manner with experience and education in the Social Worker field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of experience. Appointing authority may require a Master's Degree and/or social worker's license.
Agency preferred qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree, be a licensed social worker in the State of Mississippi, AND 2-4 years of experience related to the described duties. Applicants must attach a copy of their transcript and/or diploma, and a valid copy of his/her current social worker license. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
