Overview

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, with emphasis on ethical practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The RN ensures safety in practice, applies evidence-based practice principles, and collaborates with the patient care team to address patient needs. The RN utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizes the plan of care to address each patient’s needs.

The RN may supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and works with other patient care providers to set priorities and achieve measurable outcomes.

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for Monmouth Medical Center. The RN provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by relevant regulations and standards and adheres to ethical standards of practice.

Qualifications Required:
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • One to two years’ experience within specialty
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
Certifications And Licenses Required:
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • Must possess and maintain a valid New Jersey State Driver’s License
Preferred:
  • BA/BS/BSN Degree
  • Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school
  • Screening Certification eligibility
  • National Certification
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Night Shift
Essential Functions
  • Assures safety in practice and promotes evidence-based practice; maintains knowledge and helps advance knowledge of self and others on the patient care team.
  • Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Maintains knowledge of the patient population served.
  • Supervises and directs the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers.
  • Sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizes the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
