Job Overview

Looking for a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic Behavioral Health Team at the Center for Behavioral Wellness (Outpatient practice). The APN provides psychiatric services for patients within a psychosocial milieu, maintains evidence-based practice, and focuses on advancing knowledge and communication within the patient care team.

  • BLS required
Scheduling Requirements
  • Day Shift
  • 40 hrs per week
  • 4-5 days per week
Essential Functions
  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, intakes, and consults; maintain a case load and complete all pertinent clinical documentation.
  • Responsible for knowledge of the patient population and ensuring awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Assures safety in practice, applying evidence-based practice principles, and collaborates with resource persons and programs.
  • Provides advanced nursing care based on graduate education and broad experience with behavioral health patients and their families.
  • Works in collaboration with physicians, clinicians, case managers, and other health care professionals.
  • Conforms to the guidelines set by the NJ Board of Nursing, NJSA 13:37 for the regulation of nurses in advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners.
  • Performs duties independently following established and standardized procedures and refers questionable situations to physician.
  • Delivers behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve patient health status.
