Mobile Caretaker

Are you passionate about caretaking, teamwork, and delivering exceptional service? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Relief Mobile Caretaker to join our Facilities Team.

Based in the Ilkeston & Long Eaton area, you will be working a zero‑hour contract to cover annual leave and sickness. Working hours are 7am – 10am and 3pm – 6:30pm, paid from home to site and back, plus mileage expenses. You must have a valid driving licence and your own vehicle; otherwise your application will not be considered.

• Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
• Record basic checks and maintain Health and Safety records.
• Monitor site stocks and perform cleaning duties.
• Demonstrate Health and Safety awareness and attend training courses.

• Great customer service and communication skills with experience in a similar setting.
• Team player who provides excellent service across the Vertas Group.
• Ability to make the best decisions with Vertas in mind.
• Listening and responding to colleagues, customers and suppliers to achieve the best outcome.
• Ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance standards are met.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following Health & Safety procedures.
