Our client in Longmeadow, Massachusetts is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills who enjoys supporting day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial records.
The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced organization while expanding your accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and post journal entries
+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
+ Perform bank and account reconciliations
+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
+ Help prepare financial statements and internal reports
+ Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies
+ Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
+ Assist with audits and other ad hoc accounting projects
