Job Description

St. Mary’s Academy, a parish school located in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, is seeking a faith-filled, committed, energetic, and visionary principal. The school’s next leader must effectively communicate and impart the Academy’s mission to all constituents, including students and their families, faculty and staff, benefactors, and friends.

Qualifications
  • Must be a practicing Catholic, committed to Catholic education.
  • Experience in recruiting and retaining teachers committed to Catholic education.
  • Deep knowledge of PK-8 curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and assessments.
  • Highly skilled with written and oral communication, organized, team-builder, thorough, persistent, creative multi‑tasker.
  • Proficient in gathering and using data and technology.
  • Collegial, collaborative, supportive, with a sense of humor.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor degree (preferred).
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Responsibilities
  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in managing students.
  • Knowledge of curriculum across grades.
  • Identify problems, causes, and offer resolution.
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Operate a computer and apply word processing software.
  • Collaborate with faculty in a supportive, encouraging manner.
  • Mentor faculty members.
  • Work with Diocese, Town, Parish Council, School Advisory Board, and Finance Council.
  • Collaborate with Pastor, Parent Board to foster learning aligned with Church teachings.
  • Create partnerships with parents to support enrollment retention.
  • Innovate ideas around non-academic matters: enrollment management, retention, planning, budgets, development, marketing.
  • Work within a budget successfully.
Salary

$65,000 to $75,000 per year
