Job DescriptionJuly 7, 2026 – July 30, 2026, 9 a.m. – 12 a.m. (Tuesday–Thursday).
Reports To: ESY Summer Coordinator and Classroom Teacher
Job Mission: To facilitate the students’ progress toward the goals stated in the individual educational plans under the direction of the Special Education and Classroom Teachers. To provide other instructional and clerical assistance as required.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide student(s) with instructional assistance as directed and supervised by the Special Education and Classroom Teachers.
- Intervene in and remedy situations where the safety of the student(s) is involved.
- Work as a supportive assistant to facilitate integration of students with disabilities.
- Attend to student's academic, physical, behavioral and/or medical issues where appropriate.
- Establish a supportive and sympathetic relationship with the student(s), without fostering or encouraging intense, emotional involvements.
- Attend and participate in meetings during the regularly scheduled day with Classroom and Special Education Teachers regarding assigned student(s) as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality in school, home, and community settings as mandated by Massachusetts Regulations.
- Perform other duties reasonably related to his/her function, as assigned.

Salary$18 to $23 per hour.
Job Requirements- Qualifications: College coursework preferred; demonstrated ability and interest in children and education; clerical skills desirable; some psychology background desirable; physical ability to handle the responsibilities associated with this position; alternatives acceptable; must be available for the entire program.
- Physical Demands: Light lifting (up to 20 pounds); frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds; standing most of the time, sitting occasionally; walking, running most of the time; other physical demands as described.
- Terms of Employment: Per non-collective bargaining benefits package. $18.50/hr for 1–5 years experience; $21.00/hr for 6–10 years experience; $23.00/hr for >10 years experience.
