Physical Education Teacher

Overview

Physical Education Teacher - WRSD is seeking a physical education teacher to provide appropriate physical education activities to students aged 3-21.

• Conduct classes on a weekly basis with students aged 3-21.
• Provide physical education instruction on an appropriate development level.
• Monitor student participation, effort, and attendance and give grades on a quarterly basis.
• Promote health-related fitness activities which will meet the daily and emergency demands of each student.
• Develop the skills of movement and the knowledge of how and why one moves.
• Assist students in the development of self-confidence and a positive self image.
• Develop an appreciation of and a respect for good physical condition, a functional posture and a sense of personal well being.
• Develop a cooperative attitude toward others and a sense of good sportsmanship.

• Masters' degree.
• Massachusetts Department of Education certification in Physical Education.
• Intermediate rating on the SLPI or comparable sign language proficiency exam within two years of hire.
