About the Position
Description
A hospital in Longmont, CO is seeking a Locum OB/GYN physician for inpatient hospital coverage and 24-hour in-house call shifts (approximately 4 shifts per month).

This opportunity involves labor & delivery coverage, obstetric case management (low and high risk), and emergent gynecologic surgical cases. The facility utilizes Epic EMR and has onsite lab and ultrasound services.

Job Responsibilities

Provide inpatient OB/GYN hospital coverage

Participate in 24-hour in-house call shifts (4 per month when possible)

Manage low-risk (70%) and high-risk (30%) pregnancies

Perform routine and complicated vaginal deliveries

Perform C-sections and decision-making for surgical intervention

Manage VBACs and 3rd/4th degree laceration repairs

Perform emergent gynecologic surgeries (1–4/week average)

Interpret FHR (NST/CST/FSE)

Utilize Epic EMR for documentation

Case Volume & Practice Details

Avg hospital patients per day: 4–5

Avg deliveries per week: 3–4

OB/GYN group size: 7 physicians + 4 mid-levels

Nursery Level: II (transfer capability to higher NICU)

No supervision required

No teaching involvement

Required Procedures
Obstetrics:

Low & High Risk Pregnancy Management

FHR Interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)

Labor & Delivery:

Vaginal deliveries (routine & low forceps)

C-sections

Breech & multiple births

VBACs

Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations

Gynecology:

Diagnostic & operative laparoscopic procedures

Tubal ligation

Lysis of adhesions

Ectopic pregnancy management

Ovarian procedures

Cystectomy

Preferred: OB Ultrasound Interpretation (Level I screening)

Working Hours

Various hospital coverage days

24-hour in-house call shifts (approx. 4 per month)

Weekend coverage required

Skills

Strong labor & delivery management

High-risk pregnancy experience

Emergency surgical proficiency

Fetal heart monitoring interpretation

Independent inpatient decision-making

Requirements
Requirements (Documents Required at Presentation)

Board Certified in OB/GYN – REQUIRED

Active CO License or Active IMLC LOQ – REQUIRED

BLS & ACLS – REQUIRED

NRP – REQUIRED

Must perform all required OB, L&D, and GYN procedures – REQUIRED

NPDB Self Query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED
