Calendar Year: 200 days
Condition: Must work all scheduled calendar days in Colorado

The counseling assistant provides support for the counseling department by maintaining records, gathering and processing data for reports, and providing resources for parents and students. The role assists the student in developing the academic, postsecondary, social/emotional skills necessary to be a productive member of society. It also provides on-site direct support to the site staff and students in the overall management and operation of the school, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment, overseeing student discipline, and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

The role requires a regular on-site presence to effectively support students, collaborate with colleagues, and fulfill responsibilities. Virtual work may be permitted based on site needs, but physical presence at designated locations is essential.
Essential Responsibilities- Provide support for the school counseling department.
- Build transcripts and schedules, maintain student records and academic plans, and advise students based on individual interests.
- Assist in post‑secondary readiness by maintaining up‑to‑date information on military, college, and trade school resources.
- Compile resources for students and families and provide assistance in accessing social/emotional supports.
- Assist counselors in implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.
- Maintain student records by requesting, sending, receiving, filing, and sorting records.
- Assist counselors in collecting evaluative data to link counseling to academic progress.
- Gather information and prepare reports on counseling, programming, and student success.
- Track student contact in MTSS log.
- Maintain knowledge of counseling programs, services, and opportunities to communicate with stakeholders.
- Conduct academic advisement meetings to support students in completing high school course requirements.
- Use data from the student ICAP and assessments to create schedules and facilitate schedule changes.
- Maintain a tracking system to ensure ICAP completion.
- Collaborate with departments to develop tools to track student progress and graduation and schedule quarterly counseling appointments to assess and adjust graduation plans.
