Position Responsibilities:
Review customer requirements/specifications and work with stakeholders to clarify specifications during new units, migrations and services projects; review controls philosophy, P&I diagrams, instrument lists, and power plant operational flow charts; identify and report device discrepancies between P&IDs, signal lists, and other inputs before turbine controls software implementation; perform controls software modifications for power generation gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and compressors running on control systems like Mark V, Mark VI, Mark VIe, ALSPA, Woodward Micronet;
write, test, and develop requirements for application code and failure mode-driven validation methodologies; design, implement, and commission control loops per site requirements, as well as manage software upgrades and modification projects; provide inputs related to controls hardware and panels for each controls system migration and services project; represent the controls engineering organization during in-person software and hardware witness tests; provide startup commissioning support, collaborating with experts to resolve controls engineering issues;
handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing to meet business objectives; mentor new engineers to build technical know-how and drive process improvement; and serve as site leader and point of contact for all employees working from the customer’s facility.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, PLUS five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related position. Experience must include demonstrable knowledge of:
Gas Turbine & Steam Turbine operations; writing controls logic using ladder logic/statement list/block logic diagrams; PLC/DCS Engineering; PLM & CLM tools; high fidelity controls system modeling & simulation; AGILE methodologies, and; power plant & energy sector. Travel to unanticipated client locations, throughout the U.S., approximately 30% as required. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Supervise eight (8) subordinate employees.
Range
$1,29,085 plus benefits
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements- You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours.
We offer flexible work options, including hybrid arrangements, to support the need of the role and align with company policies. This position is located in posted locations, and may be considered hybrid based on local regulations.
