AboutThe Role
The Field Engineer will be based out of one of Clean Chemistry’s strategically located operations facilities and will support product field trials, system installations, and operations in pulp & paper mills, food & beverage facilities, and other industrial plants in the USA and internationally. The position requires traveling 25‑50% of the time and working with customers to install and support chemical production systems.
Responsibilities- Adhere to Clean Chemistry safety policies and protocols at customer facilities.
- Install and support chemical production systems at customer sites.
- Travel to customer facilities to run product trials and communicate with management and staff.
- Develop proficiency in chemical production systems to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
- Test and evaluate systems before and after deployment.
- Conduct chemical analyses of products and process streams.
- Manage and coordinate equipment for deployment to trials and permanent installations.
- Analyze customer data and performance indicators to assess technology impact.
- Evaluate field operations and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and HSEQ teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Bachelor’s or master’s engineering degree (mechanical, chemical, environmental) or comparable work experience.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills in process equipment, automation, chemical manufacturing, or industrial/municipal water treatment.
- Ability to travel independently, drive, and work in industrial facilities.
- Willingness to travel 25‑50% of the time, work flexible and extended hours at customer sites, and travel internationally.
- Effective written and verbal communication with customers.
- Ability to support customers remotely, including off‑hour conversations.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and database software;
Microsoft Office proficiency. - Independent work style and initiative to drive projects forward.
- Experience in industrial facilities (pulp & paper, water treatment, chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage).
- Familiarity with chemical reactions, notation, stoichiometric calculations, and unit conversions.
- Plumbing and mechanical experience.
- Experience with chemical hygiene and safety programs.
- Hands‑on experience with PLCs, process sensors, control signals, power supplies, motors, and pumps.
- Experience with engineering design software and Google Suite tools.
- Equipment assembly or fabrication and process hazard analysis.
- Project management experience.
