SummaryThis temporary position (6‑month term with possibility of extension) supports engineers in the manufacture and testing of prototype and flight RF Antenna Array and space system components. Responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment, assembling test hardware, and ensuring adherence to specifications and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Fabricate, assemble, and test RF Antenna Array and space system hardware and ground support equipment under engineering direction.
- Facilitate hardware test activities (functionality, VNA, spectrum analyzers, thermal testing, shock and vibration).
- Assist engineers with design review, providing feedback on manufacturability and user‑friendliness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with engineering.
- Perform manufacturing assembly procedures, rework, and repair on spaceflight hardware.
- Identify and correct faulty parts during assembly.
- Cross‑train in multiple specialties such as electrical assembly, soldering, and structural testing.
- Represent the company with exemplary professional conduct.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a degree in lieu of experience.
- Familiar with technical drawings, schematics, and standard symbols, perspectives, units, and notation.
- Knowledge of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge pins, blocks).
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to handle small fasteners (e.g., #0‑80).
- 2‑ or 4‑year technical degree may substitute for experience.
- Experience in aerospace assembly, especially RF systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production managers and team leads.
- High standard of quality workmanship, mechanical and electrical assembly of flight hardware, wire harness assembly.
- Proficiency with standards such as GD&T, IPC J‑STD‑001 Space Addendum, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC 7711/7721, ASTM test methods, and GEVS.
- Continuous improvement mindset and interest in advancing facilities.
$30.00 – $43.00 hourly
Compensation PhilosophyPay is determined by local, national, and industry survey data, adjusted for local cost, external equity, and internal equity. Salaries reflect the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge.
