Job Description
Your Opportunity as the Lead IS Engineer, Plant Systems (internally titled Lead Analyst, Plant Systems). This position will serve as a project manager and site owner for defined IT and OT system implementation, training, support, and maintenance. The critical (required to run 24/7/365) IT and OT Systems at the Longmont Uncrustables Site include HP Servers running Microsoft Server in a VMware environment hosting Proficy MES and Factory Talk View SE application software.
The Engineer will translate operational business requirements into actionable plans for Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Quality, and the Corporate Information Services organization that builds the solution. They will champion delivered solutions to meet functional design, operational business needs, and project timelines.
Longmont, CO – 100% on-site, Monday through Friday. Willingness to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed and participate in on-call troubleshooting for 24/7/365 IT and OT systems.
In This Role You Will- Lead all IT operations at the Longmont, Colorado Uncrustables Site.
- Work with the site Controls and Automation Manager to develop control and information system standards and ensure application of the standards.
- Collaborate with Tech Services, Quality, Logistics, SQMS, and Operations to identify losses and develop plans to eliminate them in safety, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert on multiple pieces of equipment and IT systems and provide training for others on control and operational systems.
- Serve as project manager for initiatives ranging from E&I focused projects, IS focused projects, or complete capital projects.
- Own and lead the plant’s MES system, database, and application standards, supporting Process Engineers with application development and system usage.
- Own the Longmont network infrastructure and IP address allocation, leading development of network topology and switch configuration standards.
- Act as the liaison with the Corporate IT Infrastructure Team for ongoing network support, maintenance, and training plant resources on network technologies.
- Own the Longmont server and VMware infrastructure, liaising with Corporate IT for hardware standards, migration plans, and system improvements, and monitoring performance to resolve abnormalities.
- Own the Longmont business and controls software systems, collaborating with Corporate IT for updates, security monitoring, backups, and Windows patching, and leading Factory Talk migration plans.
- Lead the plant’s IT security policy, documenting, renewing, and ensuring adherence.
- Manage the IT Support Analyst role, overseeing day‑to‑day operations of wireless network, camera system, security badge system, lighting server, phone system, IDFs/MDFs, and IS support requests.
- Maintain and update plant network drawings and support electrical drawing updates.
- Provide expertise in the design and implementation of machine control and process automation applications, including control strategies and HMI design.
- Lead electrical, controls, and IS contractors on projects throughout the plant.
- Bachelor's Degree required – a Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Mechanical and electrical experience in food manufacturing preferred.
- Experience in a project management role preferred.
- Network Architecture / Configuration experience preferred.
- IS Troubleshooting skills in Network, Hardware, Software, Cameras, Security, Phone, etc. preferred.
- Ability to coach and train others.
- Ability to engage, lead, and build capability on the floor.
- Experience with plant systems software (Proficy, eAM, etc.)
- Self‑motivated and able to motivate others.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Compensation Range: $102,500 – $148,500.
- Eligible for Annual Incentive Plan and Holiday bonus.
