Systems Design​/Architect Engineer

Role Summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Systems Design/Architect Engineer (Req ) to lead SSD product customer qualifications, design and implement testing infrastructure, and manage system‑level testing and validation for Micron 7550 and 7600 SSD products.

• Lead Micron 7550 and 7600 SSD product customer qualifications by testing Micron products on customer‑provided systems/servers according to customer and OCP specifications.
• Conduct system and device level testing, debug and triage device issues, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve problems.
• Design and implement SSD testing infrastructure for improved testing productivity and efficiency.
• Partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and other engineering groups to develop validation strategies and deliverables.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for validation on customer test requirements, industry certifications, and results; review and challenge current test plans and coverage.
• Recommend and instrument new validation approaches to increase coverage, accuracy, and testing services.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates.
• Define test cases to verify functional and non‑functional requirements and establish PASS/FAIL criteria in terms of cycles, statistics, and temperature.
• Execute test automation strategy and contribute to developing in‑house automation frameworks and tools.
• Analyse test results, generate bin Pareto reports, and drive defect management and root‑cause analysis.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
• Five (5) years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in a Systems Design/Architect Engineer‑related occupation.

• Customer qualification experience for SSD/HDD products.
• Product validation experience for SSD/HDD.
• Working knowledge of SSD/HDD.
• Knowledge of NVMe/SATA protocols.
• Programming skills in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with Agile product development processes.
• Project management experience.
• Familiarity with quality and process improvement methodologies and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, value‑stream mapping, FMEAs, DMAIC).
