Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team specializing in automated industrial equipment and packaging machinery. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and modifying electrical schematics, control systems, and technical documentation for custom machine projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high-quality electrical designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics for new and existing machine designs using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Design electrical control systems and select appropriate components based on project requirements.
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), electrical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations, including heat load analysis and SCCR evaluations.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, including UL, NEC, and NFPA requirements.
- Support manufacturing and assembly teams by resolving design-related issues and providing technical guidance.
- Participate in product improvement initiatives, value engineering efforts, and component evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research and development activities.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and support ERP system updates as required.
- Assist with customer support and technical discussions when needed.
- Travel occasionally to customer sites or project locations to support installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design within manufacturing, automation, machinery, or industrial equipment environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, industrial control systems, and panel design.
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, and NFPA 79 standards.
- Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Experience designing electrical systems for automated machinery, packaging equipment, or industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and engineering document control processes.
- Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and industrial automation technologies.
- Experience supporting manufacturing and field installation activities.
- Full-time position based in a collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment.

- Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required for customer support, commissioning, or project-related activities.
