Supplier Quality Engineer
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for managing quality performance of assigned suppliers, ensuring product qualifications, tracking metrics, and working on quality improvement plans.
Requirement/Must Have:- Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field such as Controls, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on industry experience in Controls, Electrical & Electronics Field in Engineering/design, quality, and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Mark VIe, PCBAs, Wire Harnesses, Cables, Control Cabinets, Sensors, Transducers, Switches, Control Transformers, etc.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain and Supplier Quality.
- Strong background in interpretation of Engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing process planning/evaluation.
- Ability to trace and interpret wiring schematics and logic circuits.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally at short notice.
- Manage supplier qualifications to ensure that assigned suppliers can produce products and components that meet engineering drawing and specification requirements.
- Own the product and manufacturing process qualifications at assigned suppliers and ensure timely closures.
- Execute the supplier evaluation process, including quality and compliance audits to ensure only qualified suppliers are onboarded.
- Conduct surveillance audits to assure effective process control and robust quality systems.
- Facilitate serial production needs and product release ensuring quality aligns with project and customer requirements.
- Organize and perform inspections at suppliers to ensure product quality compliance.
- Support customer witness inspections such as Factory Acceptance Tests and Customer Observation Point inspections at suppliers.
- Collect supplier process data for Critical to Quality characteristics and conduct process capability analysis.
- Manage supplier non-conformance reports and provide quality disposition on warranty claims and supplier recoveries.
- Perform robust Root Cause Analysis to solve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with sourcing, Design Engineering, and Materials and Process Engineering functions while interfacing with suppliers.
- Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures and specification requirements.
- Work closely with commercial, engineering, and manufacturing teams to eliminate barriers affecting quality and delivery.
- Advanced Technical Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in the instrumentation field.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or XX Belt certified.
- Familiarity with industry technical standards such as IEC, IEEE, ISO, ANSI, NEMA.
- Experience in Power Generation equipment manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project Management skills.
- Team player with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
