General Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our dynamic team at the Fort Collins office. The role requires a mid to senior level environmental professional responsible for leading environmental projects of varied size and complexity, working closely with a dedicated team of scientists, geologists, and engineers to deliver projects in the local market. The position involves identifying, evaluating, and recommending risk and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, preparing risk assessments and technical documents such as proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence.

Projects may include Phase I/II ESAs, tank closure assessments, limited site investigations, and brownfield projects.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of a project, ensuring it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget.
  • Define project scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with the client or National Account Managers.
  • Design, communicate, and implement a project plan to complete the project.
  • Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with approved safety plans.
  • Identify, develop, and gather resources for the project, including preparing calculations, designs, reports, work specifications, schedules, budgets, and selecting materials, equipment, staff, and external contractors.
  • Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources.
  • Conduct meetings, prepare reports, and communicate the status of the project to the project team and client.
  • Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
  • Coordinate with the Authorized Project Reviewer (APR) to ensure appropriate oversight and adequate time for critical review junctures.
  • Coordinate with accounting for financial management of invoicing, collections, and business intelligence.
  • Develop an understanding of project-related risk and apply company risk policies.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, engaging APRs early.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training and current refresher.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license, with acceptable violation history.
  • Ability to travel to project sites on a periodic basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or related professional registration/certification.
  • 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, specifically in conducting Phase I/II ESAs and limited site investigation services.
