Senior Radio Frequency Engineer

An expanding research and development company specialized in cutting-edge antenna technologies for governmental and commercial space applications. Key areas of focus include military radar systems, communication satellites, high-frequency antennas, and expansive deployable antenna structures.

The team possesses vast knowledge in both small and large phased-array radar systems, satellite communication arrays, and deployable space antennas. The facility features an advanced 20 × 30 robotic near-field antenna range, allowing for comprehensive testing of antennas, radomes, and radar cross-section measurements using automated robotic techniques.

We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Radio Frequency Engineer to spearhead groundbreaking active electronically steered antenna (AESA) development projects. This pivotal role entails taking the lead in RF system design, simulation, integration, and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct electromagnetic modeling and simulation using CST or similar software
  • Create and test active RF networks
  • Integrate active components like amplifiers, switches, and phase shifters into PCB assemblies
  • Perform Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) calibration, measurement, and analysis
  • Carry out antenna testing and post-processing utilizing far-field and near-field techniques
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, analysis summaries, and presentations
  • Develop multilayer RF PCB transitions and offer support for overall PCB layout considerations
  • Conduct system-level analysis and testing for radar and communication systems
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design and test engineering staff
Qualifications
  • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
  • Extensive experience in small and large antenna array radiator design and analysis
  • Proficiency in full-wave electromagnetic simulation
  • Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or C for modeling and data analysis
  • Familiarity with PCB layout for RF and mixed-signal designs
  • Self-motivated with strong collaborative abilities and adept at working in a team setting
  • Minimum of ten years in relevant RF engineering roles
  • Must hold U.S. citizenship

This position is full-time and located on-site in Berthoud, Colorado.
