Senior Excitation Engineer

GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Excitation Engineer to design, implement, and support excitation and voltage regulation systems for power generation assets. You will lead system studies, specifications, and configuration for new installations and upgrades, ensuring grid code compliance, stability, and reliability. Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex field issues, optimize performance, and guide commissioning. Mentor junior engineers, contribute to standards and best practices, and help customers modernize fleets to enable a more reliable, low-carbon energy system worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and configuration of excitation and AVR systems for new and retrofit power generation projects
• Perform power system and stability studies to ensure grid code compliance and reliable operation
• Develop technical specifications, schematics, and documentation for excitation and control solutions
• Support factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning, and field troubleshooting
• Collaborate with project, protection, controls, and field service teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Analyze system performance, perform tuning and upgrades, and recommend reliability improvements
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all engineering activities
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards, tools, and best practices
