Cyber Security Engineer – Next Generation GEO (NGG) Program
This position is for a Cyber Security Engineer on the Next Generation GEO (NGG) program based in Boulder, CO, with support in Longmont, CO.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive secure code reviews of custom developed applications to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Evaluate and validate the secure configuration of information technology infrastructure components in accordance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Perform Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) assessments on proprietary software to ensure compliance with DoD/NIAP baselines.
- Advise software development teams on cybersecurity best practices, threat modeling, and secure design principles.
- Administer, update, and integrate security tooling within the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline to maintain a robust software security posture.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience in a comparable technical field.
Experience:
0 to 2 years of software development experience which includes professional experience, relevant internships, hackathons, or robust personal projects.
Programming
Languages:
Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language or C/C++.

Basic working knowledge of relational database concepts - Fundamentals:
Data Structures and Algorithms, Software Development Life Cycle - Security Scanning Tools: SAST
- Virtualization:
Experience with containerization (building and running)
Troubleshooting
Skills:
Able to break down, reattach and troubleshoot technical challenges.
Collaboration
Skills:
Able to collaborate and communicate with team members to work through and solve technical challenges.
- Experience performing cybersecurity accreditation activities in support of software and system requirements, design, development, testing, and sustainment of approvals - Authority To Operate.
- Experience with Net Brain, Zenoss and Hewlett Packard Network Automation (HPNA).
- Familiar with eMASS, HBSS, ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), DISA STIGs.
- Experience with Secure Configuration/Hardening of DoD Information Systems.
- Experience with Intel Driven Threat Modeling, preferably classified Cyber Threat Intel Support.
- Experience briefing complex cyber security principles to all levels of knowledge and skill.
- Experience briefing high level customer stakeholders with cyber security concerns and remediation tactics.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53.
- Experience with RHEL and Windows Server/Professional.
- Experience with SIEM and cloud technologies including Log Rhythm, Splunk, Jira, and Confluence.
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.
- Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff.
- Experience with responding to cyber incidents from detection through remediation.
- Intuitive and proactive self-starter that's accountable and mission focused.
